Excellent for cutting and dried arrangements. Position: full sun Soil: fertile, moist, well-drained soil (or John Innes no. 3 compost for containers) Rate of growth: average Flowering period: July to September Hardiness: hardy annual A beautiful annual with variably splashed and mottled silver-grey and blue petals, which form a disc-like base for the prominent plum-purple stamens. ‘Delft Blue’ is excellent for cutting and once the flowers have faded, their decorative seedheads look superb in dried arrangements. Grown individually in cell trays, each plant measures about 4 – 6cm tall (from the base of the root to the top of the plant). They are ideal for keen gardeners who have a greenhouse where the plants can be grown on until they are ready for planting out in the garden once all chance of frost has passed. Please note: We grow these especially for you, so we do request that full payment is made when you place your order. See above for despatch dates. To ensure that your plants arrive in the best possible condition each pack will be despatched individually. Garden care: Pinch out the growing tips for bushier growth and keep well watered. Feed with a good, high potash fertiliser (such as Tomorite) on a regular basis and pinch off the spent flowerspikes to encourage more to form.
