Whorls of tiny, pale purple flowers, attractive to bees and pollinators appear in late summer. Perfect for adding a hint of lime to jellies and sauces or flavouring summer drinks and cocktails! Garden care: When plants have finished flowering in summer, cut flowered shoots back to 5cm (2in) above the surface of the compost. Mint is vigorous in the garden so restrict excessive growth by planting it in a large pot and keeping it well watered.
