An evergreen bamboo fern with pale yellow and green variegated fronds. Position: partial shade Soil: moist but freely draining, fertile, neutral to acidic Rate of growth: average Hardiness: frost hardy (may need winter protection) Slowly spreading by creeping rhizomes to form a (mainly) evergreen clump of attractively streaked, pinnate fronds, this bamboo fern is ideal for partially shaded borders where the soil does not get too dry. Originating from Mount Mt. Emei in China, it is rarely seen here in the UK, so will make an interesting addition to the garden. Garden care: Provide shelter from cold, drying winds and protect from excessively low temperaturs or hard frosts.
