A high-yielding heatless habanero chilli seed. Position: full sun Soil: humus-rich, moisture retentive soil Rate of growth: fast Hardiness: tender A high-yielding glossy-yellow chilli with all the wonderful flavour of a Habanero with very little heat. Picked when the lantern-like fruits turn yellow, ‘Trinidad Perfume’ is great for salads or used like sweet pepper, for a smoky, citrus flavour. It makes an excellent seasoning for Caribbean-style food. Needs a long season to fruit and mature so it is best to sow early as possible in the year. Growing instructions: Sow indoors from February to May. Sow 1cm deep in trays or alternatively two seeds per pot selecting the strongest seedling. Use multi purpose compost to cover seeds. Plant out in a greenhouse April to June. When plants reach 20cm high, pinch out the tips to encourage more side shoots and therefore more peppers. Feed regularly with high-potash tomato feed once the fruits begin to form. Sow: February to May Harvest: July to October
