Position: full sun or partial shade Soil: reliably moist, fertile, humus-rich soil Rate of growth: average Flowering period: July to August Hardiness: frost hardy (may need winter protection) Forming a gently arching clump of slender leaves, each with a broad yellow stripe running along its length, this decorative sedge offers year-round interest in borders or pots. Its fresh colouring makes it perfect for winter pots or bedding displays, but it’s also a great accent plant when teamed with plants that have darker foliage. Garden care: Comb through the plant in winter to remove dead foliage. Feed with a general purpose fertiliser during the growing season and if necessary, lift and divide over-large clumps in early spring. Apply a generous layer of mulch aroung the base of the plant in autumn, and protect from excessively low temperatures.
